Signing Off for a Winter Break

TAhoe, CALIFORNIA, ©NICOLE BRATT

Hello, friends,

I hope you had a nourishing Winter Solstice. Now, slowly and incrementally, the light returns.

I’ll be taking my annual solitude and screen-detox retreat a bit earlier than usual this year. I’m teaching a special Christmas Eve class today at noon, and then I’ll be fully offline through January 3.

This time is a kind of intentional hibernation for me. I’ll prioritize sleep, rest, time outdoors, nourishing food, dog cuddles, and my meditation practice – while intentionally stepping away from my phone, social media, email, the news, sugar, and TV streaming services. I usually emerge from this time with clarity and fully formed ideas for what I want to teach and offer in the coming year. And I’ve learned that when I skip this annual practice, I can feel the difference in how I show up – both personally and professionally.

Most years, I head to the historic Sou’wester Lodge for a week in early January. This year, I’m keeping it closer to home as a quiet stay-cation between Christmas and New Year’s while my partner is away in New Mexico with his family.

My teaching schedule returns on Sunday, January 4. While I’m away, you can always explore my on-demand classes – remember to use code NICOLE to practice for free.

I so look forward to seeing you in the new year!

Wishing you your favorite things this holiday season,
Nicole
