Navigating Menopause Together: A Community Event
Sunday, March 23 | 2:00-4:00 pm
In-person only at Datza Studios (Eastlake, Seattle)
Co-hosted with menopause specialist Vanessa Weiland, ARNP, HT, MSCP
Consider this: 50% of us will experience menopause. Who’s talking about it? More of us, thank goodness! While the average age for menopause in the United States is 52 years, perimenopause symptoms can start as early as your mid-30s, and can last more than 10 years! And the transition involves way more than hot flashes! Effects can also include changes to your period, mood, sleep, digestion, skin/hair, and more (like 90+ more!).
So, how much do you really know about "the change"? Do you feel confident talking to your providers about it, even if they don't seem to know much? Do you have a good support system and access to reliable resources?
If you're curious, co-hosts Vanessa Weiland and Nicole Bratt are putting together a chill evening of community, education, fun, and support to help you learn more about this phase of life and feel more prepared to navigate it.
We'll be showing the film 'The M Factor: Shredding the Silence on Menopause', and afterward, we'll have a laid-back, topical conversation and Q&A.
Light refreshments will be provided, and everyone gets a goodie bag with samples and treats to take home!
“Menopause remains one of the last taboos in our permissive, talk-about-everything pop culture. Even though every woman will go through some form of this chemical “reordering,” menopause is still regarded as a condition or a disease… It’s time to create a society in which all women feel prepared for and supported in their journeys to and through menopause.”
~ Excerpted from the official The M Factor website
If you are a woman (or a gender diverse person assigned female at birth) navigating this messy, badass transitional stage—you are enthusiastically welcome! Come be part of an empowered community.

Better Sleep for Anxious Minds: 4-Week Yoga Therapy Series
Thursdays: March 27, April 3, 10, & 17 | 7:30-8:45 pm (Pacific Time)
ONLINE/virtual only via Datza Studios (Eastlake, Seattle)
Have current events or other stressors made it impossible for you to get a good night’s sleep? Do you struggle to fall asleep because your mind is ruminating and futuretripping? Do you wake up frequently throughout the night – or way too early in the morning – and find it difficult to quiet your mind to get back to sleep?
You are not alone. More than one-third of American adults sleep fewer than the recommended seven hours per night.
Most of us are familiar with the consequences of chronic sleep deprivation. Insomnia, frequent waking, and/or disrupted sleep leaves us exhausted, inattentive, and unproductive – not to mention increases the risks of a myriad of health conditions. It takes a toll on our mental, physical, and emotional resilience. So, what can we do when quality sleep is elusive? Yoga offers us valuable tools for working with anxiety to achieve a better night’s sleep.
This 4-week yoga therapy series is created for those struggling with insomnia, sleeplessness, and interrupted sleep due to anxiety. In this series, you will learn and practice simple therapeutic yoga practices that can help to shift your agitated, fight-or-flight nervous system response to a calmer, rest and digest state of mind and body. You will develop proven, foundational skills to reclaim restful nights, boost daytime energy, and build resilience for life’s inevitable ups and downs.
Week 1: Foundational Sleep Tools
Week 2: Evening Prep for a Better Night’s Sleep
Week 3: Train Your Mind to Sleep Well
Week 4: Set the Stage for A Good Day
~
IMPORTANT NOTES – Please read carefully:
Pre-registration for the series is required on or before March 21. No exceptions.
Class size is limited to 8 for this series. Yoga therapy group classes are kept intentionally small to ensure that every student gets attention.
This is an online only series. You will need a quiet place to practice without distractions.
All participants will be required to:
Submit a brief, informational yoga therapy intake form, disclosing sleep & anxiety issues. This allows the yoga therapist context and background for each individual, and is strictly confidential.
Complete a feedback form at the end of the series.
Cost: $80
