Hello again, dear yogis!

Just after sending May's newsletter, I was lucky enough to attend Rod Stryker's Four Desires training here in San Francisco. The 3-day training was rather perfectly intense: an incredibly rich container for deeper self-awareness, a sacred space to dig in to my limiting beliefs, and a fun workshop for seeking the areas ripe for growth in my life... all around the idea of living my dharma (life purpose). I recognized a strong need for more kama (pleasure) and lila (play) in my own daily life, my relationships, and my yoga practice.

The work I began that weekend has already very noticeably shifted my life and heart into new, exciting places. I've been consciously dissolving old rules and patterns, listening to my heart wisdom over my "monkey mind", and welcoming possibility the way a young child welcomes the morning: with genuine joy, curiosity, movement, and laughter. More than once this past month, this quote from Alan W. Watts has come to mind: “This is the real secret of life — to be completely engaged with what you are doing in the here and now. And instead of calling it work, realize it is play.”

Come out and play with me, my friends... at one of my studio classes, at a Yoga on Vinyl event, in a private session, in Mexico in November, or maybe just for tea and a secret swing over the rooftops.

In joy,
Nicole
