What hiking teaches me

Hello, lovely ones,
Today, I’d like to share some of the valuable life lessons I’ve learned from hiking (so far).
You can only take one step at a time.
You never know what is around the next bend.
It’s wise to set aside expectations. And any tendency to rush.
Respect the weather… and all beings that cross your path.
Don’t be afraid of the rain.
Make friends with the dirt.
Sometimes the most magic happens when you stop walking and simply pause to listen.
There is no such thing as absolute silence.
Rewards come to those who change their perspective.
Our human concept of time is singular – the bird, the trees, the salmon, and the mountains each have their own time scales, too.
Turn around. Something magical might be right behind you.
Much love as you step fully into this new year,
Nicole
